Lobo 09-12-2009
Location: 218 Court St. BK
Time: 10pm
People: MGru's birthday party friends
Feelings: Happy Birthday MGru! We celebrated her birthday at the Tex-Mex restaurant, Lobo in Cobble Hill. They have a spacious seating area upstairs that is perfect for a large group. The fun and relaxing atmosphere and our friendly waiter were also perfect for this occasion.
RB and I started with a Lobo Margarita ($7) which was made with fresh blood orange juice. It was delicious and refreshing but a bit too light on the tequila. The drinks went perfectly with their crispy chips and salsa. They had hot and cold red river fish taco options, and we decided to share the grilled fish tacos on soft shells ($12). The ingredients were fresh, and the overall dish tasted very nice. They were the lighter alternative to breaded-deep fried-tartar sauced Southern California treat, but we actually both prefered the unhealthier original version.
Unfortunately, they closed at midnight, so we had to cut the party short and moved to the bar scene on Smith Street. If they were open later, I would love to make this place as a staple hang out for late night chips and delicious margartitas with friends. They have the perfect fun atmosphere without pretention or cornieness.
